Finding the missing piece

Greyson Thagard

Greyson brings a robust academic background and a knack for detail to his role as a human rights fellow. His previous experience in hospitality gives him a unique inside view to the industry as he prepares human trafficking cases.

Academic Background

Greyson recently graduated magna cum laude with honors from Otterbein University. He holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Psychology with a minor in Legal Studies. Greyson holds a certificate in Paralegal Studies from Boston University. During his undergraduate years, Greyson earned awards in both the Political Science and Psychology departments, as well as a merit scholarship for academic excellence. He is a member of the International Psychology Honors Society and participated in Otterbein’s Pre-Law Society.

Research Experience

Throughout his time at Otterbein, Greyson conducted several research projects. He researched associations between academic performance and adolescent delinquency; the impact of tree tags on Otterbein students’ conservation perceptions; and the accuracy of eyewitness testimony over time with regard to perceived cognitive workload. Most impressive is his honors thesis, which explored the Republican Party’s shifting stance on immigration over the last five elections. To complete this paper, Greyson spent hundreds of hours reading political party platforms, compiling quotes from national convention speeches, and comparing survey and immigration data. This practice honed his research skills, making him the ideal candidate to sift through evidence and find the piece to seal a win.

Hospitality Experience

Before joining Hilton Parker, Greyson spent several years as a front desk manager at a Columbus hotel. His knowledge of the hotel industry gives him a unique perspective into the cases he works on, allowing him to expand the team’s capabilities. He is dedicated to ensuring the industry creates and maintains the best tools and procedures to help prevent human trafficking.

Future Plans

After completing his fellowship, Greyson plans to attend law school in the New England region. He hopes to work in public service as a criminal attorney, with dreams of becoming a trial judge. Greyson has a particular interest in serving rural communities to connect with those he serves and balance public safety with the need for successful rehabilitation strategies. He believes that a strong and supportive community can reduce crime through prevention and intends to dedicate efforts to improve local libraries and recreation centers wherever he settles down.

Outside the Office

When he’s not compiling lists of evidence, Greyson can be found in his home library reading the classics. He is a collector of antique Charles Dickens books (his favorite is Oliver Twist) and antique history books. On the rare occasion Greyson isn’t reading, he enjoys completing jigsaw puzzles and playing Clue. Greyson has one dog named Otto and hopes to gain a few cats in the future.
