Lucy Cheng

Lucy Cheng’s passion for deep-dive research and critical analysis drives her performance as a Human Rights Fellow at Hilton Parker LLC. Her background working on international forums has led her to develop a commitment to cross-cultural collaboration and human rights advocacy.

Lucy graduated summa cum laude with honors from Boston University, with a Bachelor’s in Political Science and minor in Cello Performance. As a junior, she interned at the Intergovernmental Consultations on Migration, Asylum and Refugees in Geneva, Switzerland, where she supported international information sharing and discussion regarding immigration policy. She also worked as a Study Abroad Ambassador and Staffing Editor of the Boston University Pre-Law Review.

In her senior year, Lucy completed an honors thesis, focusing on domestic worker immigration policies in the United States and Canada. This comparative analysis explored the formation of immigration pathways for domestic workers, relying on centuries of census data, historical accounts, and feminist literature. Lucy’s research skills guide her today as she combs through case law and arguments to advocate for survivors of trafficking and abuse.

In addition to her time at Hilton Parker, Lucy works as the Outreach Director for the nonprofit Global Co Lab Network to empower youth worldwide. In this position, she manages partnerships, executes projects, and organizes events to support action towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She has also served as Project Manager for a global social media campaign and a conference for youth. Her commitment to uplift voices less-heard extends to her time at Hilton Parker, where she supports the stories of victims of injustice.

When Lucy is not nose-deep in her work, she unwinds by reading a well-written novel and playing chamber music with her family. Her twelve years as a cellist have fostered a love for creativity and teamwork that she hopes to bring to Hilton Parker.
